| Beverly
Belshaw was born in Manchester on 10th February 1962.
She achieved a Certificate of General Art and Design in 1979, followed by ULCI Northwest Regional Diploma in 1981, and a TEC Higher Diploma in 1983. Beverly studied textile and surface pattern design in the latter two courses. After her years of study, Beverly moved to North Wales and in 1995 established her practice as a professional artist. Beverly specialises in silk painting and is also interested in working with mosaics. In addition, she passes on her skills to students at workshops. She is an associate member to the Society of Graphic Fine Art and a full member of the North Wales Society of Fine Art Beverly has travelled in France and Italy extensively and many paintings have been inspired through these visits. She takes a great number of photographs to work a painting from, in her studio. She finds this approach best suits her needs in order to use silk as a medium. |

Recently, Beverly has turned her attention to developing a much more abstract approach and this has come about in a very natural and progressive way and is represented through new work in the form of large wall hangings on silk. Her response to colour is vibrant and intense. The act of painting is a personal interpretation and reaction to a visual moment captured, and recreates the experience through painting. Beverly’s paintings are held in both private and corporate collections and in addition, Top That Publishing have recently introduced a new book titled “Discover Silk Painting” to the U.S. and the U.K. markets this year and include various examples of Beverly’s paintings. |
